The Mender's Promise

The Mender's Promise

A Poem by Spirit
"

This poem is about a fear of letting down your guard after someone broke your heart and finally finding that someone who is willing to put the pieces of you back together.

"

I’m not asking for forever,

I’m just asking for today,

I want you here,

No…

I need you here.

Please, don’t walk away…

I know this is new,

I know your fear,

But please,

Please….

Let me in,

Let me try!

I will mend your heart,

I promise.

My biggest struggle with this one was coming up with a last line that really packed a punch. If there are any suggestions for an ending that really may just hit home more, please comment!

It started off smoothy, then hit a rough patch. I myself don't understand how, but just look it over.
