    And the sky roared. Stars that were held above for so long were shooting down in tear streaks, endlessly shaking the earth with their impossible weight. The city crumbled under the enormity of the explosions; its once majestic and steadfast buildings were weak with the tremor of the thunderous bombs which relentlessly shook the world.

    On a building in the distance, they were watching the carnage. Without moving, without blinking, they witnessed the fire that consumed their home. “Tell me something that will make me happy,” she said while her city died.

    The bottle in his hand rattled from the clap of the oblivion. Inside his eyes were hot coals, burning with a despair and hate that he could no longer control. Stars were falling on the unprepared land around them, and everything was burning. “You are going to die one day,” he said,  “and this will all be over.”
