THE PREDATOR'S PRAY

THE PREDATOR'S PRAY

A Poem by andrew mitchell
"

The praying mantis has always been my favourite insect

"
Praying mantis in combat green
Well camouflaged, cannot be seen.
For in the breeze swaying like a tree
Her moves are silent, looking to feed.
While watching you with friendly eye,
Almost smiles as you come close by.
But under her spell, lured by charm,
Watch her ferocity while all's calm.
For praying be fooled, she's no priest:
An act for slaying for her feast.
Patiently waiting in combat green
Always groomed like a cat she preens
For butterflies and flies are her catch,
Like lightning---- strikes her prey in a flash.
And for the mantis's pray, a game of chance
Most often than not, the victim's last dance.

i have to agree a little with jamestown's review i kept picturing a women but not in the same context. I saw a female soldier. "Patiently waiting in combat green Always groomed like a cat she preens" Really like this line.

Great piece of work! I couldn't but think these little buggers remind
me of the women now days:( I'm sure if these bugs could take your
house, car, kids, money and kill you after fornication they would!
Thanks for sharing and b-blessed!
