Pulling on empty reigns.

Pulling on empty reigns.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Pulling on empty reigns.
Galloping thoughts
     stampede
     coerced
     corralled
      stamped
       broken
         sold.
      Pet food.
       Please
      refrigerate
      on opening.
       Consume
         after
      three days.
No winners announced
on the finishing line.
I trotted off in thought, sad,
pulling on empty reigns.
