All in one movement, time.

All in one movement, time.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

All in one movement, time.
As the little girl
on tip toes,
body outstretched
reaches with soft hands
to wind the mantel clock
FORWARD.
The frail old lady
with bony appendages
she has become
listens to the
Westminster chimes.

Ah time...just a construct of the mind. All we ever have is now.

But you capture a lifetime in a beautiful little poem, bridging decades, by winding the clock forward.

Cleverly done!

thank you so much Philip for your words and dropping by.
And all at once, a life... youth gone. Days turn into months, into years
and that damn clock never stops. Poignant write my friend.
