Play it again Sam!

Play it again Sam!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Play it again Sam!
I heard your song,
but I changed
your channel,
it was the same
song as before.

Just like paying to watch T.V. and all they do is run the same movies over and over from channel to channel. Valentine

Too right Kathie
A deeply cynical note to this one Andrew. Short and punchy and a no tolerance approach to this person who has seemingly let you down all too often!

One does get cynical and sarcastic as one gets older or is that grumpier!! Thanks John for stopping .. read more
Familiarity breeds contempt but then absence makes the heart grow fonder and so it goes...we are like yo-yo's to adages and yo-yo's to our feelings - unless we cut the string then what?
Deep and still fun-filled as per A.M.

Thank you Tony for the kind words mixed with your accurate take on life's mundane existence lol
Ahhh. Casablanca.....i just bought that a couple of days ago!

Funny that the movie always has repeated viewings even though we know exactly what will happen, but in life, we get sick of hearing the same tune and are happy to switch our allegiance.

A nicely written metaphorical piece, Andrew.
