A Story by andrew mitchell
"

a monty python perspective.

"
Make love not war
seemed better tactics
until love got in the way
then the wars started.

For the world
was not ready
for everyone to make love freely
there had to be boundaries,
rules, regulations, laws!
After all...
we could not be like animals;
animals were way too much civilised
for our liking.

Yes one never reads the news
to find elephants rule Africa,
kangaroos staged a revolution in Australia
kicking out the koalas
where tigers rule India while invading Pakistan
and the bald eagle is the new president of the U.S.A.

Nope! That is too civilised!
Lets have Wars instead shall we!
Okay everyone stand, look at each other
and say I hate you!
Feeling better are we?
Okay! one more time then....

I nodded through most of the writing. I guess we will have to keep growing and evolving.

we are two-legged animals but sometimes have to wonder who has more sense, us or them? indeed the bald eagle has landed in the U.S. this brings me back to images from Python's 'The Meaning of Life' or perhaps 'Planet of the Apes'. men like to flex their muscles in a show of bravado which takes us down dangerous paths ...

Your wit and truth go hand in hand. Very powerful take on man's obsession with wars and their consequences.
An excellent write, sir Mitchell.

You are welcome.
i love this...when we start thinking that wars are civilized we are in trouble.

reminds me of The Most Dangerous Game and Zaroff talking about how animals hunt to survive and this is called savage...while men hunt for sport, and this is called civilized--
