Your life says choo choo!

Your life says choo choo!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Life
is no more
a train journey,

your tracks have been laid
from beginning to end

where memories of love
are carried through
on your heart's caboose

rat a tat tat
rat a tat tat
rat a tat tat

the rhythm of your life span
approaching your final destination
slows down

clickety-clack
clickety-clack
Ding ding ding

The hiss of brakes
the dirge of the horn
and a rumble no more.

Looking back I watched
my train pull out
the station.

Nicely wrapped nostalgia, Andrew, that tugs at the heart as the train pulls away. It's always the saddest part, watching it go, isn't it?

Thank you Kelly. And yes indeed it is!
beautiful look at the span of ones life ..love the train talk .. reading out loud is the best ... i place myself on the platform in order to look back as it "pulling out" ... so who and where am i now???? ;) i see vague shadow poeple about ..none too close ...hmmmmmmmmmmm everything else is too blurry to see ... i wonder if i'm fading too ..maybe there's a taxi to call....or i might find the ticket master and buy another ...damn dilemma andrew... perhaps accepting the reality of the END is the ticket eh!? great read always ..enjoy the topic and metaphor ..love those trains and whistles
