You cast away my severed thoughts.

You cast away my severed thoughts.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

You held the rope
that held the balance,
you whispered quietly
on my high-wire placement
of thoughts suspended
asking me to cut the rope?

sometimes we live our whole lives on the high wire...the rope getting cut okay, but the net taken away from below...that makes us think twice.

indeed jacob
from the title i take it he went ahead and did her bidding ... shaking to and fro up on that high wire ... i think she is quite the coward to ask him to do it when it seems it is she that wants the thing to be over ... if i don't think of the title as integral ..your closing leaves me balancing along with your protagonist ... struggling with the knife in one hand, struggling with her challenge and struggling with the height ... i think i like the open endedness of that way rather than the rope cut ... deed done ... your poem involved me brain and me emotions ... enjoyed the read!
