When your world is on notice.

When your world is on notice.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

In the beginning
the significance of being
played out safe
in a world too big
to be noticed.
But as I got older
the world became smaller,
I could no longer hide.

oh how true this is, andrew,
we get bigger, the word gets smaller.
Was up IN Vermont years ago and stood in front of the big farmhouse where we stayed back in the fifties...and thought to myself...wow...not as big as i remembered it being...
i grew, and it seemed to shrink.

Thank you Jacob, I have that image of that typical big American barn you speak of as a child and yes.. read more
How true these words are. As I get older and take more notice of the injustices, my voice gets louder and people know now how I tick and what irritates. No hiding place for me. I wear my heart on my sleeve. Like these words very much Andrew.

Indeed Chris, thank you for reading.
dear Andrew... as a Child... I wrote pictures ... now I paint pictures
with words. The world is smaller and I still wish I were taller.
People wonder how long I will live. I wonder about the earth and
the sky... whether I will learn to play the piano... Hiding is good
when you need to collect your thoughts and renew your soul.
Your poem brings out the fighter in me... my mind is still
remembering. truly, Pat
