Once a upon a thought!

Once a upon a thought!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Once upon a time
there was a thought
that wandered into
the land of happy thoughts
where he became
the toast within minds.
No longer a thought
ignored, crushed, mocked
and sent to the gallows,
but a thought that thrived
on a sigh of joy becoming
the thought of the day,
a thought to be remembered,
a thought amongst happy thoughts.
Until the ill wind changed
their thoughts labelling him
a dreamer who was then
banished to a world of dreams
that can only dissolve away.
It was only then
the Pipe Piper of Thoughts
knew the tunes
that he was playing
were not of his calling.

Enjoyed the last lines/idea so much.
"A thought to be remembered" is definitely a way to feel about this poem. Lingering yet subtle in so many ways. Great read!

sardonic twist in closing ..treacherous path our thoughts may end up swinging to ... makes me think of that place between waking and dreaming .. when our thoughts slip out of our control into the sub conscious mind ... nightmare? or happy dream? .... :) the seat of all our actions begin in the mind don't they?! with a single ......thought
