Reconciliation

Reconciliation

A Poem by andrew mitchell

According to the calendar
it’s about time
God and the Devil
got together and
forgot their differences.
It’s been going on
for two long now.
It’s got to the stage
where the universe
has spread to the
far reaches of nothingness
beyond the big bang’s control.
So unclip your wings
and start the reconciliation
procedures now.
Besides when the Earth
blows up one day
you’ll all be out
of a job anyway.

Sign on St Peters Gate.
Closing down sale.
Angels for sale
please apply within.
Plentiful experience
on table dancing and or
pole manoeuvres.
We will teach you
all the right moves.
Hurry Heaven won’t last.

Sign on Hell’s door.
We are out of hot mustard,
Jalapeño peppers and
sexily clad hot’n’ spicy girls
We apologise for
the inconvenience
due to a possible
reconciliation.
Any matches
would be internally
grateful to keep
the flames going.

In a strange way Andrew I thought of our two party politics in the UK. Once miles apart, but these days seem to be moving ever closer. Not much to tell them apart at the moment and as far as I am concerned they are both a pain in the backside. We need something new. That's where I drifted to this very early mane.

Have the same problem here with pollies. Thanks for your words Chris.
Two going on for far too long. That is quite so to our reckoning. And indeed that coming to a head is fast approaching. Perhaps there will be an agreement to what each will be reconciling to.

Somehow that little shoulder devil and angel tandem are appearing in the back of my mind!
