At the cricket conference

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Welcome everyone and
who might you be?
I’m wicket and this is ball.
Glad you could make it.
Over here is bat and pitch
and in the far corner is fielder
with drinks.
Jolly good!
And who are you?
I’m just a bystander.
Hello Miss and who are you?
Oh! I’m pickup.
Well I’ll be!
I’m pickup line.

dearest Andrew. Cricket can be a Game or a sound that
chirps. Your poem reminds me of how much my Granddaughter Madeline
loves to play Softball... It prepares her for a Life of winning and losing and
learning that it is how you play the Game and not whether you always Win.
gently, Pat
