I used to think that fruit flies were dead

When I found them in my glass of wine.

Then, one day (annoyed), I pulled one out of my glass,

And watched one on the tip of my finger-

Flapping it wings and flitting away-

Hearts can be like fruit flies...we might have annoying heartbreak and feel dead from it...and then suddenly flap our wings and fly away to a new situation that can make us live again.
Love the metaphor.
