Red Velvet

Red Velvet

A Poem by lovelymarina

Behind
light crashing waters,
where creatures roam beyond,
stood a small space,
two residents,
intertwined to one,
for a short while.

Playful exhilaration,
in front of a screen,
red velvet lingerie,
dressed surely,
to his liking.

Walls that unfold,
too much agony,
among neurons,
between burnt cookies in the kitchen,
charcoal sheets in the bedroom,
and astral passion in the living...

Our niche,
destroyed,
but my red velvet lingerie...
I still wear sometimes,
to pretend love is eternal,
and reality is not,

reality.

Red velvet passion. It appears the heat has burned out of the relationship and cooler climes have arrived. Sadly that is often the case. Eternity doesn’t last long these days. Good to see you back lovelymarina. Enjoyed your free verse.
