Break up Pain

Break up Pain

A Poem by Andrew Michael Bennett
"

Written fall of 2012, and I still went back after this... I learned eventually.

"

The pain it burns,

and it returns,

I’ll never escape it,

you’ll never replace it,

the piece of my heart,

that you tore apart,

I’m left alone,

sitting by the phone,

hoping it’ll ring,

but your voice would sting,

you’d hurt my ears,

reignite my fears,

of being trapped again,

a stranger in my own skin,

not able to leave,

I can’t even believe,

I was dumb to stay,

to watch you walk away.
