A poem about growing close with someone special then suddenly growing apart.

"Forgotten"

"As time has passed and moments shared have come and gone, with trying times I find an unpleasent truth to be revealed. It seems as if just yesterday you were saying I meant something to you. The memory of you holding me close still so vivid. As you caressed my hand just before gently kissing it, thinking I was fast asleep you were unaware that I had seen the genuine act of affection...

The memory only one o f  many that bring a smile near. With the time passed a growing bond, I truly believed it was something but lately it seems it was easily forgotten...

When I needed you most you were far from reach. As I lost a part of you and I, alone I was inflicted, you were no where near, you had easily left it behind and forgotten...

Convincing you were that you cared for me. With an heavy heart in disbelief tears began to stream from the harsh reality that you meant none of your words spoken to me. Your actions well played out with perfection, you easily moved on. To you it was merely a distant memory forgotten..."

The more poetry you read the more you come to realize that close to half of it is about heartfelt love, the other half is about heartbreak, and falling out of love. Maybe I'm the half empty cup guy, but the falling out part just seems to be the one that gets me the most, and the one in life, most anticipated. Sad really. Nice writing Elaine, I hope this spring brings a fresh and vibrant renewal to your heart and spirit.

Very sad indeed and you have summed up so well the feelings many people must feel, I am sure you are not forgotten though and your poetry makes you stronger

Sad but true, circumstances can change a once hopeful blooming realtionship into a distant faded memory. You may look back and wonder why.....
the first sentence of the last paragraph had me a little confused, but good overall.

After a breakup those wonderful times can start to feel like another lifetime ago cause you begin to feel like a different person... the melancholy feel to this poem was really beautiful despite the sadness.

A sad but beautiful written poem of love disappointment. I could feel the loneliness and disappointment in your words. Sometime we may feel lost and left alone. Better to learn we are being borrow for a moment only. A excellent poem.

Beautiful. I am at a loss for words. This poem expresses this deep emotion in such a way, that anyone who has suffered the same, will feel the need to help you get through it.
