Silhouette

Silhouette

A Poem by Amber Bariaktari NYC Filmmaker, Screenwriter

Rise and fall
winter's exhale in an
empty world
void of

Silhouette of laughter's calling
distance, too far
from any dream,
spoken of light
in the shadows
and the shadows in
light

dance far across the sky, too
far to touch, only one, one
still, stands, looks
out

Like rain in the sparkling
remembrance, the spark
of knowledge, that is there
buried, but forgotten,
there, but lost
somehow

somehow, there are no
constellations in a clear
sky, closer to back
against silhouette
and flickering
wick of a
candle

there is fall and rise
of shadow in light
and the light in the
shadows

flickering to its
own story
