Wishful Thinking

Wish me this, wish me that

Wishes for my wisher true

If wishes could wish me to heaven

I'd dance across the moon with you

Wish you once and wish you twice

Miss me, kiss me, pay the price

For wishing has a cost you know

a toll for walking golden row

If wishes could help wisen me

I'd wish for them outnumbered, see

I'd give you one, I'd give you ten

I'd wish for us to start again

back to the days of shooting stars

to window sills and virgin hearts

when naive glances took a peek

and wishful wishes they did seek

Yes, very sweet; but, please don't wish for that, because what's begun the same becomes the same, and every seed grows into its larger self...so, if you wish for anything, let it be this golden ring held out to you, that makes your wise heart grow and face into the wind, and smile at everything you know...
