Streetwalk

Streetwalk

A Poem by Anthony Devin Medeiros

Yellowed leather sneakers
Smack rain slicked pavement
Spitting mud and water
Up the back of skirts and slacks
That slump through wet

Heads turn
Gathering to watch
The corner with the blink
Of orange blurred sleet
When flicked white, move again

Across glass paneled store fronts
The horizon thickening gray
I wonder
What their business could be
To put them under the rain
