Mother's EyesA Poem by Ameerah Brownits about my mother's eyesPoetry hides in my mother’s eyes, disguised behind her smile. Emotions not expressed Poetry hides in those dark brown eyes like chocolate hiding from a chubby kid, hiding her deepest fears and unknown secrets. What lies behind those eyes we’ll never know. Poetry hides like a small child playing hide and seek. I wish I had the key to unlock the door in her gaze, but I lost it. Poetry hides.© 2014 Ameerah Brown |
