On this day

A special note on a not-so-special day

Dearest You,

 

Every day into the future takes me one day away from the past and one day away from you. The remaining part of my life is a punishment, because there is no sign of you in it.

 

There hasn’t been a single day when I haven’t thought of you. But I will miss you the most on this day. Perhaps this date will remind you of me. I wish it doesn’t because I know it will upset you. You’re not too good with dates…maybe my wish will come true.

 

There is no reason to celebrate. None to party.

But if I had you, everyday would have been a reason to celebrate. Life would have been one huge party. There would have been ups and downs as well, good days and bad. But with you, I could’ve overcome everything. You would’ve helped me overcome anything.

 

What used to be my biggest strength is now my biggest weakness – my loneliness.

 

You are not here today. So I went through your old mails (April, 2005). I felt you were talking to me. It is very important to have happy memories in life. I’m glad I have so many. I’m lucky you are the reason. Time will not heal the wounds that I have inflicted upon myself but your letters will see me through whatever is left of life.

 

I wish you find reasons to be happy in whatever you do and wherever you are.

This is so much personal and heart wrenching, I felt so helpless after reading it..
People say that time heals everything but the fact is it is us who doesn't want time to erase everything...because sometimes, we are just so happy to live with our memories.

What a beautiful love letter.

I know how hard it is to let go of them, "I went through your old mails". I know how hard it is to let go of him, "There hasn't been a single day when I haven't thought of you." And they say time heals all wounds, "Time will not heal the wounds that I have inflicted upon myself." Yes time does heal the wound, but the scar stays forever in your mind, body, heart and soul.
