Ghost

Ghost

A Poem by Amy Selena

Speak softly
Let your voice dance
Like the silohuette of a flame

Speak slowly
Let the words flow
Conspicuously around my name

Trace your finger along the rim
Can you see the memories spilling over?
Feel the heat of the candlelight dim
Can you taste desire melting in the air?

Hazel eyes
They flicker in the shadows
Conscious mind
It wanders, an aimless soul

An endless dream,
Eyes like pools of rainwater
A melodic whisper,
Voice like a misguided ghost
Your devilish grin,
A black-laced veil over dark secrets

Can you see the hungry fire?
Our masterpiece of devastation and decay
Can you taste the bitter ashes?
The remains of our hopeless endeavor burned away.
