What is Beauty?

Beauty is
the bend in a smile
the wind in the trees
the smell of the rain

Beauty is
the way the snow falls
How a bird flies
how a fish swims

Beauty is
the chiming of laughter
the path of a tear
the glow of happiness

Beauty is
the ease of a friendship
an old couple’s love
the feeling of togetherness

Beauty is
the blue of the sky
the white of the snow
the waves of the sea

Beauty is
the brightness of day
the darkness of night
the stars in the sky

Beauty is
the wind in your hair
the sun on your face
the caress of sand between your toes

Beauty is
the way water moves
the shadows on the clouds
the smell of a field

Beauty is pure

Beauty is undiscerning

Beauty is ancient

Beauty is appearance
but beauty is also much deeper

It is beautiful to be

Beauty is in life

Beauty is in death

Beauty is

and always will be

Aeternal Oceanfire: That is exactly why I wrote the poem. I had a friend who couldn't open his eyes to see the beauty of the world and he really didn't get what I was calling beautiful so this is my definition...kinda...
