"And they lived happily every after..."

"And they lived happily every after..."

A Poem by Ananya Rao

But that's not how destiny works does it? If only life stopped...
If only life stopped at those perfect times,
then we wouldn't need
lemonade to be made,
with our basked of limes.
If only time stopped,
at those happy moments.
When we feel we can't be topped,
Only to realize, that we
are wrong on every tangent.
So, dear "Happily Ever After,"
I am done chasing you,
For you only haunt me with your laughter,
For, there is no Prince Charming,
And no glass shoe...

Happy lived ever after is just an illusion. We need to be realistic all the time. We live life with all our imperfections.
Nice poem Ananya Roa.

Fairy tales and happy everafters are for children, to help them sleep and dream peacefully. Yes, when you are grown up, reality sets in. No Prince Charming and no glass slipper. Nicely conveyed thoughts here.

Aww, thank you
So hauntingly true. Happily ever after is simply an illusion that we aspire toward but it never is truly achieved. Acceptance is what we gain. The acceptance of love for all our faults and imperfections because we are imperfect creatures prone to errors and mistakes. Life is seldom perfect and love echoes that sentiment. Thank you for sharing your thought provoking poem.
