Tao

Tao

A Poem by anartao

Tao is not a ruler whom I serve on bended knee,

for one whom dictates terms of life robs one of being free

Tao doesn't speak of dogma, nor promote conformity,

the greatest strength of life is found in its rich diversity

Tao is not a ritual, nor a rule book set in stone,

for stillness is to invite death, and life must be re-grown

Tao is ever changing, forever dynamic and re-born,

and to pick one moment and call it truth means the link's already torn

Tao cannot be found in a book, but within the life that you live,

trying to frame the eternal in words is like draining the sea with a sieve

Tao is not a killer sending believers off to shed blood,

for violence breeds naught but itself, and erases all in its flood

Tao is naught but life itself, and its myriad of forms,

the way we find within all things, and from which all things are born
