The Stupidity of the Typical American Man

Andrew N. Farrens
Drew Kazinsky

(CHORUS)

The stupidity of the typical American Man

We infest our bodies with these drugs because we can

It’s amazing to me that no one does seem to understand

Our ignorance has corrupted the spirit of the land

(Verse One)

I’m a rappin’ f*****g hippie

Most people can’t hear me

Unless they’ve been bred genetically

To be more prone to poetry

And understand it intellectually

Cause let’s face it most people I meet

Are stupid or at least that is the world I see

Experience has been telling me

That even you’re best friend is a potential enemy

So I’ve decided to stay paranoid

Keep my emotions bottled-up

Locked within a void

Even the simple pleasure I can’t enjoy

Like firing up a stick of that backyard pot

‘Cause if I’m driving home stoned

I might get pulled by a cop

But that is okay cause common sense I have a lot

In my glove box I keep a sharp razor blade

It’s not to slit the cops throat, just to give myself a quick shave

It’s imperative to make myself look preppy

Because we all know a little piggy

Can’t stand a rappin f****n’ hippie

And with my quick thinking

He decided to let me go

And whaddya know??

In my car,

I still like to roll

With at least an eighth of an O

The MORAL of the story, well there is none

Except to say you get away

If you look like a republican

(CHORUS)

The stupidity of the typical American Man

We infest our bodies with these drugs ‘because we can

It’s amazing to me no does seem to understand

Our ignorance has corrupted the spirit of the land

(Verse Two)

THEY just love to twist the Knife In

So When I Start, I write til’ the end

And I’m off five Vicodin

Starting to like life again

I am the ignorance of the typical American Man

Wreaking havoc upon the land

For no reason, just cause I can

That sounds horrible, even to me

The World is a cruel place and

Usually

You’re not used to hearing the Truth spoke aloud

But I’ve learned that the Truth

Won’t move a crowd

But another well-placed lie will do

With Irony I am going to kill you

Good righteous people vote Republican

In the next election

The Truth is,

America is threatened

For right wing conservatives

spread like an infection

(CHORUS)

The stupidity of the typical American Man

We infest our bodies with these drugs ‘because we can

It’s amazing to me no one does seem to understand

Our ignorance has corrupted the spirit of the land

The Stupidity of the United States, Man

We infest our world with wars ‘because we can

It’s amazing to me no one does seem to understand

Our greed has corrupted the Spirit of the Land

(Verse 3)

Spit the madness

In the form of a Devil

No matter what you think

You’re not special

And for that I thank everyone, lately son

I’ve been feeling Kind of Blue

Out of sorts with the lies

The media is feeding to whom?

Not me, But to almost all of you

That’s why the people are filled with Hate

And I’m a f*****g genius living in a blue state

Deem this to be from a real Patriot

Not that of the red, which is fake

George W. Bush is great

Brains splattered like that infamous Nov. 23rd date

When the country lost a halfway decent president

J.F.K.

Hopefully, I can salvage the day

And just maybe some of you

Might listen to what I say

Believe me when I’m like Hey!!These right wing sons of b*****s

Are doing real damage

Listen to the Venom of a Mr. Michael Savage

I cannot put the D R before his name

It would be insane

The real Doctor of Journalism

Already had his fame

Now he lies dead, a bullet to his brain

This is the Man I could idolize

But my idol is truth and that is not what lies

Before my tired eyes

Democracy is dead

George the Second has killed

No one cares

And the children far from literate

If I tell the truth, you wouldn’t hear it

So I sit here and write my next masterpiece

By the time I record it

It’ll sound like something somebody else released

(CHORUS)

The stupidity of the typical American Man

We infest our bodies with these drugs ‘because we can

It’s amazing to me no one does seem to understand

Our ignorance has corrupted the spirit of the land

Author's Note

Andrew N. Farrens
I suppose it is quite obvious that this is political type of poem/song I wrote during the time of Bush the Second's oppressive war of terror that was purportedly against terror itself......
Irony: one of the greatest gifts The Gods, in their almighty wisdom, deigned to give us lowly mortals of equally low morals. The link to the song itself at Sound-Cloud is above. I'm not happy with the quality since I recorded it in two takes. I had less than fifteen minutes studio time so this song was recorded during the same fifteen minute studio session as "The Mind of an Addict". All this in the rare case that inquiring minds want to know about such nonsensical political insanity but when some minds are clinically brain-dead, they do very little inquiring. As a weird rule developed for some bizarre reason, I almost alway leave these 'fields' blank or provide very little information. This is obviously the exception to the rule and I have no doubt it will occur at least ten times in the next six months. Ayuh.

their is a lot of truth to this. on the fact that we accept a democracy that protects the elite and the very rich, for example the monentary system , the feds, which put the ownwers of the banks on top of everything (if they decide war theirs war) and just become untouchable

"We infest our bodies with these drugs ‘because we can" amen to that......

The poem was good nice rhyming.

The sad part of our world. Change need violence. Here in the USA. People are getting pissed off. Something bad is going to happen. I lived in the city of Detroit in the Riots in the sixties. I saw Kent State on television. Your words are honest and true. USA ain't dead. Need a wake-up call. Thank you for your thoughts.

I don't like the title or the repeated bit about the stupid american man very much, but I was raised to hate that. My mother wouldn't let me read books or watch tv shows that portrayed the man as stupid. Stupidity can be equal in men and women, but I am going to try to put that aside for you, but know that, though I try to get rid of it, I may be coming in with that while reviewing. (Always want to review honestly)

"It’s amazing to me that no one does seem to understand"- For the purpose of the flow I think I'd remove the does, it just isn't needed.

"’m a rappin’ f*****g hippie"- love that. It made me laugh a bit. It reminded me of being out with my girlfriends and they talk about some "hot guy" and I don't get it, because that is just so very much not my style, I have to shrug and say "whatever, I'm a hippie." There's no denying it. Being a hippie is as much in the genes as anything else to the best I can figure, you just are what you are.

"That even you’re best friend is a potential enemy" "You're" is supposed to be "your".

"But that is okay cause common sense I have a lot"- wording sounds off to me.

I think that this is well written, it has humor and anger and a real lot of disdain. The disdain for all the people bugs me a bit. I can't tell you how to feel of course, it is just that it was getting under my skin as I was reading this and I like to imagine that most people are smarter and better than they seem.
