GUARDIAN ANGEL

It all happened during that cold shivering night,

When I melancholy stared at the moon so bright.

I gently closed my eyes as a tear streaked down my face,

It was then I realize your hushed heartfelt gaze.

 

Your beautiful presence somewhat gave me the feel,

The meaning of the word “nostalgia” at your own will.

You gently took the tear with your smooth fingertips,

As you slowly reached my face and sealed my lips.

 

Gentle loneliness crept through me like fright,

Yet we still blissfully dance in the moonlight.

But despite of this, pain murmured to my heart,

The dramatic truth that we’re ages apart.

 

I love to hear about your blissful stories,

For it never ever fails to replenish my worries.

My favorite was about this pretty little girl,

With deep cerulean eyes and big golden curls.

 

Each and every day, you patiently watched her from afar,

And every time you do, your heart is in trifling war.

Unintentionally, you fell in love with her despite knowing the consequence,

Gentle words swiftly lingered as true love was your only sense.

 

Tears overwhelmed my blue eyes, it was then that I realized,

Finally, the time has come for you to pay the unrequited price.

Silently, my heart suffered in intense anguish,

If only there was someone who could grant my one last wish.

 

Laying a fingertip on my lips, you slowly placed you arm around my waist,

It was then that I felt your soothingly passionate embrace.

For a moment, my selfishness loomed and I want you to be forever mine,

Nostalgic like we were born with our destinies entwined.

 

Tender silver eyes met with my distressed blue ones,

And like a flash, it vanquished my hidden foes.

But fate, as we call it, is blatantly life itself.

You soared calmly in the sky as you vanished away from my self.

 

My eyes gently recuperated as a teardrop suddenly fell,

I had the same nostalgic dream again that somehow rings a bell.

Holding my heart, I unconsciously told myself, “Someday, Somewhere,

Though worlds apart, I promise we’ll be together, forever and ever.”

well, for me, it was fantastic. this poem got an alluring story. it moved me.

- loved this stanza a lot, though, its a little bit selfish, but you know, when it comes to love, there's no choosing. i can tell, you write by heart.

I loved this poem! The dancing scene with the guardian angel was really powerful. I felt like (while reading the poem) the characters were constantly dancing as if by some unknown force, until they stop abruptly. Good job!
