Glimpse of a smile

Glimpse of a smile

A Poem by Constantin

It’s a subway six o’clock Monday

Morning people are running in

There is an old guy from China

Unpacking his flute and tunin’ it in

Chinese flute sounds so weak and sad

People walk by without even a look-up

Another day makes them feel so mad

‘Cause flute player doesn’t get his back-up

(Chorus)

You need just a glimpse of a smile

That sparks your soul and heart

Life would run the mile after mile

Mixing up goods ‘nd bads from the start

You need just a glimpse of a smile

This change the energy of the day

Your heart to be filled with love for ‘while

Just keep it high and do it your way

Chinese player whistles well-known melodies

But flute sounds so remote and high

It brings despair feelings but not remedies

People ask, do we need it and why ?

Gloomy people refuse paying his bread

His flute still plays it very high

Melodies are minor and sad, they said

He’ got no money in hat and people prefer to fly
