Romance of Night and Day.

Romance of Night and Day.

A Poem by Juliet Forshaw

Dawn cast out an early glance,
Upon night, huge and bold.
Then at last, upon by chance,
Strew hues, silver and gold.

Out; long wings struck, far and wide,
Light for night,  time is grown.
Above hills, aloud she cried;
'I'm here!  Darkness! - I'm home!'

'Silent tempest, heavens grace!
When did it come to bare,
That a once-familiar face,
Should dance rings in your hair?'

'A glimpse beyond night', said she,
brought me- to- you this day.
still, I shall return to be,
But love for you will stay.

She flung wide, chariot door,
Embraced, danced with all might,
She vowed, another, no more,
He leapt to flee the light.

A bright orb, to sea was cast,
Dwelt pertubation deep,
The prince took his seat at last,
She fled, across to sea.
