Space

Space

A Poem by Athena Angel
"

A poem about growing apart

"

And I sit here

With this space between us

A few feet turn into a million miles

And I soon enough this will be over

I’ll save us some time

Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye

Always there in the corner

And words feel forced

Laughter filling a void we can’t ignore

Illusions we can’t see anymore

It’s okay to be blind sometimes

I’ll pretend not to see

The death of what this could be

Words spoken but not felt

Hands outstretched but never held

You can’t take all the blame

But I’ll give it to you anyway

Too free, too f*****g free

To be held down so easily

We’ll sit here

With this space between us

A few feet turn into a million miles

And I soon enough this will be over

I’ll save us some time

Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
