Wish You Were HereA Poem by Athena Angela poem about missing a loved oneI don’t think you understand how much everything
changed after you left And sometimes everything feels cold, everything feels
blank, and all the colors I
can see fade away And I do nothing but
wish you were here And my heart is breaking in such a subtle way So far underneath what everyone else can see Some days, I’ll fall apart with a straight face, at the sight of your
name and I’ll see myself falling deeper and deeper into the dark and I can’t stop it, I can’t avoid it I’m slipping on loose rocks, falling into everything I am
not And I do nothing but
wish you were here And my face was like a painting smeared after all the rain Not recognized, disguised, made up of lies Hung in a museum, claimed as art, But it was just a mess, something thrown
together with one second left wishing you were here to see my pain wishing I could hear you say my name wish you could lecture me after every mistake just a moment to heal that’s never enough time just a moment to tape up a broken frame that’s never enough time don’t you know, it wasn’t enough time it’ll never be enough time I fear when I do nothing but
