LIFE LESSONS

A Poem by angel
"

Simple life lessons

"
Life was so simple when I was a kid.
I found there was wonder in every day!
From a popsicle to a katydid,
New things delighted in every way.

Not quite so simple when I was a teen.
Subtle nuances began to intrude;
One must be well-mannered, yet seldom seen,
Never exhibiting 'attitude'.

Still more restraining was  twenty.
I now seemed forbidden to have any fun.
Predictably, I lived life aplenty
Jumping in head first, ran smack into THE ONE.

From him, I learned about magic and dreams
He taught every lesson to me.
From him learned the sound of a song and a scream
And what any occasion could be.

I drank in his lessons to keep in my heart
Could never forget even one.
That day that he left, I just came clean apart,
Feeling completely, sincerely undone.

Never saw him again; and he's long since then died,
Taken down by a bullet one night.
But I bet he can see me, no sense to hide
From the place that he watches from, inside the light.

I like how you work your way through an idea whether a story or poem. Same here, starts out simple and then in a brief spiral turns complex. I'm curious, what is the idea behind the heavy bold font?

My mood precipitated the font
Oh... I felt sad after i read the poem but a beautiful tribute for your special person.
