UP, AND EVER ONWARD

UP, AND EVER ONWARD

A Poem by angel
"

a directional piece

"
Up, and ever onward, I see myself and know
The way that I am facing is the way that I will go.
I dare not stop my progress; 'twould be a shame, you see,
To take a break, to make a pause, in my mobility.
Up, and ever onward, I hurry as I try
To get where I am going to, not knowing where or why.
"I'll know it when I get there." I say it with a grin,
And hastily, I check my watch,quite eager to begin.
Up, and ever onward, I push my feet ahead,
My dad would say there's time enough for resting when I'm dead...
So, on and on I persevere, never seeking slumber;
Time and tide will not give way, nor will my soul encumber.
Up, and ever onward, I tell myself again;
I feel that I am coming to what's sure to be
The
end.

Having no idea makes a great compass. I read this as invigorating motivation and not a harried pace. With few words you have said quite a lot A.

What a fabulously inspirational write angel. I'm on a mission, I keep going, but I have no idea where it will lead me. All I know is I haven't accomplished as much as I want to and the years are drifting by at rapid speed. Great write.

this reminds me of me...and how hard it is for me to sleep now...being 68 and feeling like i don't want to waste a moment being at rest when there are still things to accomplish.

But i do think we rush through life too much, trying to do too many things, rather than just savoring those things we do.
