LIVERPOOL RAMBLEA Poem by angelStroll around the city
LIVERPOOL RAMBLE
Let's take a stroll through Liverpool, It's an enormous place The list of schools is just insane And churches run apace. The River Mersey runs through here; And ferries travel by The smoke hangs heavy in the sky, The view is never clear. Their football team is called the Reds, A fan base like a sea I must admit that cooler heads Are more my cup of tea. We come now to the Cavern Club, Alas, it got plowed under To make instead a parking lot. If you ask me, a blunder! This quite disturbed the Beatle's fans In nineteen sev'nty three. The city made a replica Exact down to a T. Let's go in! We will descend Underneath the ground A cellar full of noise, it is; With a distinctive sound. British invasion started here The music was the best! It grew until it had to move To all points farther West. America first heard the sound In nineteen sixty three. the record started to astound So many; even me! There's Hessey's,;where the local bands Bought all their guitars! A bunch of guys who shopped in here Became enormous stars. Well, that's enough of Liverpool. We're leaving Merseyside; I must go to America. Hope you enjoyed the ride! © 2018 angelReviews
