![]() Don't leaveA Poem by Anggela![]() I just wrote this about something that happened last night![]() Don’t leave I wanted to say I wanted to keep hearing
you breathe Wanted to keep holding
your hand. Your curly hair between
my fingers That my fingertips could
finally feel. Just being in that
moment, Where you and I were
meant to be. You couldn’t hide you
were mad at me You couldn’t even speak. I asked what was wrong You said “nothing” As if I hadn’t heard that
before. The night was too dark And your feelings you
always want to hide. How can you not be
vulnerable? After you’ve seen me cry. Multiple times. Leaves fell from the tree
and I saw that as a sign Just as you smiled back
at me. I didn’t want you to
leave. I never do. You said you might feel
burdened By the weight of our
worlds colliding. And that, I’d never make
it happen. If only you accepted the
fact That you deserved more
than what you already have. You’ve built an empire
for your life But what’s that in the
end? If there’s no one there
to share. To admire your flaws and
your wins. To clap in your show when
no one else did. And when you go to bed at
night You feel the warmth that
you heard so many people talk about. Four arms holding tight, Whenever crying is what
you want. When the exhaustion makes
you doubt your way And you tried to push me
away So many times you lost count. But I didn’t leave as you
did that day. I want to but you’ll
never tell me to stay. Or to leave either. Because you know deep in
yourself That you’re getting
scared again. When you caress my back And the flashbacks return You can't help but cease
the burn. Of me touching you And you sensing the smell
of my perfume That I so carefully
choose Every time I know I’ll
see you. © 2025 AnggelaReviews
