If you'd choose to love me

If you'd choose to love me

A Poem by Anggela

If you’d choose to love me

You wouldn’t know about being lonely,

You’d only know what is like to be loved

As if you were wrapped in the arms of God.

In the softest embrace

Just one with the universe.

You wouldn’t know pain,

cause it’s in the past.

You could finally understand

That things are meant to last,

That you don’t need to be scared

Cause I would honor us

Until I’m done with my last breath,

As I have done from the moment I first saw your face.

I knew you were something else,

Not someone to be forgotten.

Something sacred.

God made you stand in my way

So you’d know what you deserve,

So your flaws could be admired,

Softly put to rest

Under the veil of the starry night.

A spirit coming from above,

Just to land up on my hands.

And I want to take care of it

As a good mother to her kid

The most innocent creature my eyes could see.

And I’d love you so well

If only you were able to give

If only you’d go back to yourself.
