Mirror

A Poem by Anna Clark
"

a reflective poem

"
Who are you?
Where do you hide?
You've started to cover up
All the pain you feel inside.

Do people know you?
Do you even know you?
Where have your hopes and dreams gone?
Did you lock them away?

You know you want friends
You know you still care
So why is it so hard?
You know you have a light.
Why can't you let it shine?

You look in the mirror,
You wish you could change everything you see.
You find ways to stay unhappy.

You don't deserve any more than that, right?
You need to find a new mirror
And take time to really look.

But it's not that simple.
You are the one who falls apart too easily and can't pick up the pieces.

But who are you?

You are me.
