IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT A ONE-SHOT IS THAN YOULL BE LOST

"
Stella:[she covers her ears to block out the screaming of her father yelling at her for doing nothing. She didn't wanna believe what was happening, but it was.]

HF:(her father)[He grabs his eight year old daughters neck and shakes it;He slaps her hard, leaving a slap mark and threw her onto the concrete pavement and walked out after spitting at her and kicking her]

Stella:[she lies there cold and shaking. Her dreams of her being left up to Heaven to belong with Mommy and little Katie, whom had died at the hands of her father]

[[Five years later]]

Stella:[13 year old Stella climbs out of her bedroom window after her father punched her in the face. She hops down and runs while tears fall down her cheek.]

HF:[screaming after her and he ruins her bedroom by knocking over glass and braking everything and being destructive]

Stella:[goes back to her bedroom and couple hours later and sits in a middle of one hundred pieces of broken glass and cries]

[[Three years later]]

Stella:[sixteen year old Stella grabs her car keys from her father's hand and tried running to her car, but her father broke a window;she climbs into the front seat]

HF:[he runs after her and punches the driver's seat window, making glass cut Stella who was letting tears fall flat at her cheek]

Stella:[puts the car in drive and drives off while crying and her father trowing rocks at the car]

Three years later

Stella:[nineteen year old Stella stands at the microphone in the gym in her highschool for grustacon. She gulps before she speeks]

HF:[sitting in the background;listening to his daughter]

Stella:[she holds her breath until a teacher tells her it will be alright;she lets it go. She looks at her father]

Stella: I though I was the problem in everyone's life. I though that I would die at age of ten, when my father knocked me into the Creek's River at night and I swan away leaving him to laugh and me drowning. I though I had best friends, but they had left me because of my bruises and scars. I though I was alone.

I am not alone. That is horrible and sad. As I walk of this stage tonight, I am hoping that when I get to where I am going, everything will be alright.

Hey Anna., abuse is a vivious, yet the story for me isn't compelling enough, in the first ten pages of any screenplay is cruical and this pace slows down. It makes we wonder what makes Sells's story so different from another. Take us more in the abuse, her tears , the heat of the moment and don't let us out. Plus why is she staying with this slime. Why hasn't the mother, friend, someone interfened. Plus the years gap between the beatings leaves a opening for more story and the psycho/physical consequences of such an upbringing. Give us something unusual that has not been synthesized. Thanks.
