The Everlasting Love of a Horse

The Everlasting Love of a Horse

A Poem by Annie Rachele
"

I ride horses a lot, even though i do not have enough money to own one, and I have loved them all my life. This is a sonnet I wrote for English class which describes why I love these beautiful animals

"

A horse has a way of stealing your heart,

Each its own personality and love.

Their frame is an exquisite piece of art,

Each movement resembles a gliding dove.

They bounce with the trot, float with the canter,

And fly within every powerful jump.

With endless amounts of play and banter,

They will love you through every scrape and bump

They can lead a soldier into battle,

Image result for horse and human bondOr simply graze in an endless green field.

Years spent up on an old, leather saddle,

Riding faster than light, no sword or shield.

The horse will always be a faithful friend,

And stick by you until the very end.

This is a sonnet, and I know two of the lines are a near rhyme but it still works. Please tell me what you think and I hope you enjoy!!
