You're a gift and a curseA Poem by Robin ThakurJust a quick poem about my confusion lately. There is a bitter trembling that takes over me, It feels just like you. It’s a monster hiding in the shadows waiting for me, Oh God, it feels just like you. I am constantly running, trying to escape this darkness, It reminds me of loving you. I try to persuade myself that this life is not a nightmare, but I’m just not trying hard enough to wake up. They can’t comprehend my inability to let you go but, my blood is already poison and its traveling through my veins, awakening my body and screaming your name. You don’t understand why I still cling to you, but our past is my life support and I am just trying to breathe. I just want to breathe. I must have painted your face on my eyelids, because you’re all I see when they close. You make my lips tremble. My knees weak. And all I want to do is forget you like you’re forgetting me. © 2015 Robin ThakurReviews
