I Fear the Night

Teach me not to miss you

for I only wish to sleep

and my mind will not allow it

when you're haunting all my dreams.

I keep you in my mem'ry

but I want you in my life

and I miss you every moment

while I hold you deep inside.

I just need your laughter

need your smile

need your voice

and if only I could see you

make you make a different choice.

Teach me not to miss you

for I only wish to sleep

and my mind will not allow it

when you're haunting all my dreams.

I wish that you could see me

see the impact that you've had

see the wreck you've left me in

hear these thoughts that drive me mad.

There's no happily ever after

without your shining light

and now I wait for morning

as it's sleep that I must fight.

Teach me not to miss you

I only wish to sleep

but my mind will not allow it

you're haunting all my dreams.
