Life's rough

Life's too short to enjoy
That's what people say
I'm only getting older
With every passing day

There's stuff that I have done
And things that I have seen
Some when I was young
Just a young, dumb teen

I regret them everyday
But you can't change the past
I don't mean to hurt you with the things I say
I want every day for you
To be better than the last

Life's been tough
But I had to be tougher
It was rough
Now I lay here and suffer
