This Blockbuster called life

This Blockbuster called life

A Poem by abby2011

The loudest music,

is not always retained

Often,

the sweetest words,

in the softest tones,

echo in your ear for eternity…

The most alluring woman,

while engaging and seductive,

is not always beautiful or endearing…

Once in a while,

and if you are lucky,

a buried diamond will reveal herself,

after years of friendship,

trials and tribulations, and

in one

honest,

haunting glance…

the intensity,

will supercede seduction

The sun is warm,

yet unreliable at night..

The clubs are alive,

but empty at light...

Fake smiles

hurried preparation

pretencious presentation…

a photograph

of who?

you?

…are you here?

The sting of a paper-cut will reminds us

that we're delicate...

we feel slight interruptions.

Capable of caring,

With the capacity to love,

yet challenged

and prodded

and poked

with tweezers;

we devastate the butterfly

cruelly

misplacing each of it's laden wings

until it is

and we are

no more

…what for?

You look outside your window…

shy to the world

apologetic for your intrusion

but curious...

sun enticing, birds joyous,

the look, of the smell, of crisp spring air

in the background on the tele:

'Showers and hail expected'

so you glance closer and inspect it

keen for travesty

yes,

there's a cloud

there's a shadow

the look, of the smell, of heavy winter rain

Tell me;

how can another tell us what is what?

If we are lost

if we are sheep

it is because

we put somebody else's intention, and perception

ahead of our own

don't honour god,

if you don't want to.

but please,

i beg of you,

honour you.

your senses

your mistakes

your laughter and your love

take ownership

of the wicked beautiful splendour that is you,

in the real portrait of life

the moving cinema

you are the star!

love this. love the message. love the passionate shoulder shaking stereophonic symphony of this poem as it head bashes apathy.

favorite line was so simple and genius... "we feel slight interruptions."

you remain one of my recent joys.
