The Truth (My Disability)

The Truth (My Disability)

A Poem by aprilrayne

changes in december weather,
cold on ice, these fired eyes,
sick and twisted to the beat of a different kind

turned a cheek 'til I missed the go
ahead of me you rushed to know
pay no attention fast or slow...
you make it harder on me

pricked a finger on my words
with a quiet voice i told you
don't look back again without a hint of your reality

painful memories burden
when you pull the curtain
on the truth (my disability)
you make it harder on me

your simple mind i must confess
it tears me open leaves me to address
the careless moments that we've made
the careless moments that we've saved

you've pushed it past "just leave it be,"
like a car crash, what's left to see?
made a mess of a change of heart in a tragedy
now you've gotta me let go...

you've pushed it past
what's left to see?
you've made a mess,
made a mess of me
now why can't I just let you go?

sometimes it`s hard to say good bye
and just as hard to realize how you really feel
