![]() Combust-icationA Poem by aprilrayneMaybe I want to wallow with you, Maybe I want to spill some blood. That vicarious venture, The depth of your emotion, It’s intoxicating, Because I feel you, But I am not you, And I never will be. Like the faintest star I see reflected in your eyes So close but so far away I will never be as you, Combust as you, Pitter away and crumble into a vortex Down the drain with the bottle in my hand and yet, This path you walk alone. Wishing my hand was at your side, A swing at Jupiter wouldn’t pull you near, And yet we ricochet like waves of magma Flushed, we checkmate. And I dare to think what you’d have of me Years ago, I would have swallowed you whole Like a daydream Born inside the mind of a winner But the past has won, And my age has deceived me And Still I want to wallow And Still… I want some blood. © 2015 aprilrayneFeatured Review
