RELEASED BY THE WHISPERING WINDS

A haunting cry echoed between dunes of shifting sand

Those listening searched hidden memories, unplanned

Long years ago a legend had ricocheted back and forth

Some still remembered that night, reflecting henceforth

Now the eerie call was back to raise distress and disturb

Invoking unease the strange noise was bound to perturb

A few who heard remembered, aged in years they were

Recalling the tragic night of drama, creating quite a stir

Together they reminisced, agreeing to meet in the dunes

Whistling sweet melodies lingering from long ago tunes

Shuffling deep in thought coming across a heap of bones

The cry was a mournful plea from the restless unknowns

Now they could liberate their souls to an eternity of peace

Those old, who remembered, thankful to give that release
