Fine

Fine

A Poem by Araine

You ask me how I am,
I'll never say happy,
Never sad,
____,
Eyebrows high,
Flexing a smile,
Your blow glances off of it,
And I counter immediately,
You have no time to open that wound,
How's life?
I'll never say great,
Never terrible,
____,
Muscles twitch,
My armor dented,
I bring up your own,
Query your past to get you to talk,
I put some distance between your blade and my shield,
I'm ____ as I am,
I'm ____ on my own,
Work is ____,
I'm feeling ____,
Your blows are numb,
You threw more hits but It's I who's won,
You didn't even know that this was a war,
That your sword was unsheathed and pistol drawn,
But the spotlight's on you now,
My smiling shield can rest,
That's ____ with me,
That's good with me,
That's great with me,
Don't worry,
I'm ____.
