REKINDLE

A Poem by Arielle Hill
"

A girl finding old memories of a friendship she once had. Always having feelings for this guy, by her going down memory lane, she can't hold it back anymore. So she writes...

A Poem For You

(REKINDLE)

OH MY GOD...

HOW FEELINGS CAN COME BACK OVER AGAIN,

TO FLUSH MY FACE WITH THE EMPOWERMENT OF DESIRES,

DEJA VU OF YOU REKINDLES THE FIRE,

READING OLD MEMORIES SCROLLING DOWN THE SCREEN,

WE USE TO TALK, USE TO LAUGH, SAY LITTLE ROMANTIC THINGS,

HOW THE TEARS TRY TO FORCE THEIR WAY DOWN MY FACE,

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE TIME?

AS MY EYES VIEW THE TEXT,

FLASHBACKS OF MY IMAGINATION PLAYS IN A REWIND,

THE SOUNDS OF HAPPINESS RINGS IN MY EARS,

THE SIGHT OF YOUR SMILE ILLUMINATES MY SPIRIT,

OH MY...

CRAVING YOUR TOUCH ON MY SKIN, A HUG,

PRAISING GOD FOR ALLOWING THE GIFT,

ALLOWING YOU TO COME OUT OF YOUR MOTHERS WHOM,

TO GROW UNDER THE ARMS OF HIM,

AND FOR YOU TO BE MY WISH,

OH HOW I WISH YOU WERE HERE IN MY SIGHT,

LAUGHING AND ENJOYING OURSELVES UNDER THE MOONLIGHT,

IT'S A PEACE THAT OVERCOMES ALL MISUNDERSTANDING,

NO MORE IDIOTS OR JERKS, JUST YOU IN THE WORKS,

MY FRIEND,

NEVER FORGOT ABOUT YOU,

WISHING I HAD YOU FOR MORE THAN A FRIEND,

EVEN WHEN WE LOST TOUCH,

I SEE YOU IN OTHERS EYES, BUT NEVER IN YOURS,

CAN'T HOLD IT BACK ANYMORE,

TIME TELLS ME TO LET YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL AFTER ALL THESE YEARS,

SORRY IF I'M BEING TO HONEST OR TOO FOWARD,

BUT MY THOUGHTS ARE POURING LIKE WATER,

AT THIS VERY MINUTE AND HOUR,

MY WORDS TO THIS PEN DEVOURS,

LIKE A BOW ON A TOWER, IT STANDS FOR YOU,

BECAUSE WITHOUT YOU,

THERE'S A LESS PERCENTAGE OF LOVE,

A LESS PERCENTAGE OF JOY,

A LESS PERCENTAGE OF SOMEONE TO CARE FOR,

DEEPLY,

OH... HOW FEELINGS CAN COME BACK OVER AGAIN,

TO FLUSH MY FACE WITH THE EMPOWERMENT OF DESIRES,

DEJA VU OF YOU REKINDLES THE FIRE.

Arielle, this is magnificently beautiful. I can relate with this new electronic age of viewing texts and online messages and crying at the memories. Sometimes I read old poems of mine and cry, remembering the time and my feelings when I wrote them. Excellent verse!

Thank you Neva!!! That means A LOT! By you being such a great writer, I'm really appreciating your comment. It's crazy how looking at words to remember makes you cry, but it's all in good venting! (smile)

Lol. Thank you Nao. And sry about the capitals. Just like different style. This poem definatly is one of the deepest ones I've done. I really had to get something off my chest that day. Lol. This is someone I really care about. And this went hard because I wrote it then and there without hesitation.

Arielle, your hip-hop soul is taking leaps and bounds, but the captial lyrics are giving me a head-ache child.
