White Walls

White Walls

A Poem by ~Artemis~
"

a different take on hospitals

"

A heartbeat means life, as does the steady rising and falling of a person's chest

At least that's what the doctors say

All wrapped up in their white hospital coats

Everything there is white, or becomes so

The white walls zap the color out of people

until they’re cold and pale and lifeless

hospital beds turned to crypts

a cemetery for the still-breathing

Wow... now I'm terrified of hospitals and feel sorry for those that are trapped there. This seems to be from the point of view of somebody who has spent too much painful time in a hospital. Very nicely done as it causes the reader to think about the lifesaving hospitals in a different, more life draining, way.

Keep Dreaming. ^^
